So this weekend was Halloween. A neat thing about this weekend is that it is also the weekend before the 2008 presidential election!
When these two events coincide, you get stories about Halloween masks sales predicting winners. The method is far from scientific, but it is always cool to see who is leading in these Halloween mask polls. Here are the photos and sales of the two leading candidates.
Would you look at that! It seems like Obama has a 10% lead in sales over McCain! I'm thinking that we don't need to worry about all that Electoral College stuff.
Ok, back to Hopkins. Halloween here means fun at Fells Point (Michael Phelps just moved there!). Several of my friends just went there and had a lot of fun dressing up. For others, it was a chance to go to the Inner Harbor and have a fun night out. Here are some images from Halloween at the Hop.
The neat thing about Hopkins here is that there are so many different types of people here that you are bound to find someone that you can relate with.
For example, when I started here I was amazed at the diversity here. There were people from all over the world -- from Thailand to Guatemala to Arizona.
Of course, this entry would not be complete without a mention of politics here at Hopkins. Needless to say, there are many political events going on around campus. I am myself going to be at Election Watch at the Charles Commons Ballroom tomorrow night to see the results. Then, there is an analysis afterward of what this next president means for our country from our own political science professors here at JHU!
Look for an update coming next week about how it went and this week's activities!
Also, make sure to check out the Hopkins blogs this week because there are a ton of new features coming!!!
Till next time,
Rohit
