Hey everyone. Since the Hopkins Cribs are all the rave, I wanted to give you a glimpse of what it is like to live in Wolman Hall; my home for my freshman year. When I was deciding where to live over the summer prior to my first year, I heard all the negatives about Wolman: it isn’t social, it’s too far away, and it’s secluded. While there is some truth to these statements, I don’t regret my decision at all.
I like Wolman for many reasons, and they keep getting better and better with new additions to the Charles Village area, such as Chipotle. When I first arrived during preseason, it was nice to have the entire soccer team in the same dorm. Also, all of the freshmen lacrosse players and many football and baseball players live in Wolman. Now with that little background, let's take you on a tour of my room.
First, click here for information about Wolman from the Housing web site. But to really experience, watch my video Cribs tour:
I frequently think that we are spoiled living in Wolman as freshmen. Having a kitchenette and a bathroom between just three people is amazing. I don’t have to wait for people to get out of the shower in the morning or go to the cafeteria for breakfast as I can cook my own before class. I share a bedroom with my roommate, Ryan. We get along great as both of us play soccer and have somewhat similar schedules. As you can see from the video, we have a TV in our room and a bunch of appliances, such as a George Forman, in the kitchen area. The best part of the room has to be the incredible view of the Beach. If you are not aware of “The Beach” it is the grassy area in front of the library where students hang out during the day. As I write this now, I can see over a hundred students lying in the sun and playing football and soccer. While I love my room and Wolman Hall as a whole, I typically only spend a few hours in it aside for when I am asleep. There is just so much to do on campus. I think that about sums up my room but definitely check out the video or leave me a message if you have any questions.
