Hopkins Cribs: Wolman 703A (the smallest double on campus)
I live in the smallest double on Campus. I do not think I exaggerate, I have checked out floor plans.
Don't get my wrong, my room is cozy, its comfortable.
This semester I rearranged it, decorated it, and reorganized. I love my room.
But its small. It's minuscule.
One of my friends came to visit. He put his bag down on the floor. He tells me "Laura, I know you told me that your room was small, however, you didn't tell me that if I put a bag on the floor there would be no more floor space."
I did, in fact, detail to him the minuteness that was my room, yet he thought I was exaggerating. I do not e
xaggerate.
However, I do love living in Wolman. I LOVE having my own bathroom. I love it. I love that I can roll out of bed and into the shower and not walk down a hallway. I love that I can walk around in underwear and not really worry about it. I love that when I get the flu and spend the weekend throwing up like I did this past weekend, I have my own clean bathroom and toilet to be near...
Additionally I love having my own kitchenette... I love making tea every night and oatmeal in the mornings and soup and the occasional gourmet dish, which only gets so gourme
t, but fondue or stirfry or pancakes or frenchtoast.. It's wonderful. especially when Hopkins dining begins to get old. And I love that I can study in my room and leave it when I want to be social. I love that I can disappear into it and be alone when I want....
And I love that the school provided us our very on fridge..... its quite nice, keeps things cool and has a freezer for icecream and all sorts of other goodies...
pictures! So, I took these while standing in the few feet of floorspace, which is why you can't see any floor space... my bed! which is the best part of my room, my desk and decorations, and my wardrobe..which is less exciting but necessary to living...
Hi Laura! I went to the Open House last week and fell in love with Wolman. I just don't know if it's convenient since it's not directly on campus. Also, are the people in Wolman social? I'm not the most social person but I do want to make friends. If no one else does, it would be hard. It's not that I'm assuming people are not social, I just keep hearing how the AMRs are very friendly and people don't close their doors, etc. Would be nice if you can answer my questions. Thanks ^^

Hey,
I love living in Wolman- its perfectly convenient although its not right on Campus, the walk to my classes is definately as close as if I was in the AMR's (unless I'm going to Bloomberg...) People are very social. It's about midnight and I just spent the past 3 hours with my floormates running around and being ridiculously silly... good fun.
Unlike the AMR's there are common rooms on every floor so people go out there to work, socialize, watch TV, play games.. etc... So people are always around. I love it.... I think everyone is super friendly and so long as you are friendly too you will have no problem at all becoming great friends with others in your building =)

I was wondering if the Wolman building has climate control that can be controlled in each room like the McCoy building does.

As a freshman, if you live in Wolman, do you have to walk to the freshman quad to eat in the dining hall?

You do have to walk to the freshman quad for the Fresh Food Cafe; however at the bottom of wolman is the SuperDepot- a grocery store type place for food.

I love what you did with the postcards on your walls! Quick question...do the bathrooms come with the metal tower you put all your shower stuff on, or did you buy that?

I also love what you did with the postcards. What a neat idea!
Quick question... I love your bedding! Where did you get it?

hi! sorry it took me so long to respond; summer vacation and all....
We added the wire thing in the bathroom and it was SOO nice!! It was only about 20$ from Bed, Bath and Beyond. Worth the splurge.
I love my quilt too because its so bright! I ordered it from some bedding company but I don't remember... sorry =/
