Living Off-Campus means that we finally have a FULL kitchen. It is great. We have two coffeemakers, a big fridge, an OVEN, a gas stove, a microwave, and a dishwasher!! It's incredible.
So, every week my roommates and I try to have a Family Dinner. We make something delicious and get to enjoy our kitchen and each others company.
This week we had a sort of impromptu Family Dinner after we realized we were all hanging out at home and needed to eat.
So we went through our kitchen and found some frozen chicken breasts, and lots of salad making materials...
So we decided to make a BIG Salad and some pasta and a delicious side of roasted sweet potatoes and carrots....
Our pretty stovetop, complete with frying the garlic, excessive teapots, and two fruit bowls.
I live with boys; they cook, amazing I know. And they clean too. Well, we all clean occasionally. Sam's chopping garlic for our fantastic salad...
And my other roommate Matt seasoned and cooked our chicken for us. He generally gets to handle the meat aspect of our meals.
And here we have part of our delicious salad....caramelized onions and toasted pine nuts (and goat cheese and fresh heirloom tomatoes and chicken YUM) !
And here is our fantastic dinner.... Yay!!
And one of the best things about living with friends off campus is getting to have your own family and dinners.... you learn how to cook, get delicious food and get to hang out with awesome roommates!
Cooking can be fun. What's nice about it is that food somehow tastes better when *you're* the one who made it. :)
