Welcome to “Lifestyles of the College Bloggers” I’m your host, ambiguous English voice. Today we’re examining the living quarters of the coolest of the cool, the master of her domain, the most awesome of the bloggers: Michelle Brown. In her room in Homewood Apartments, she concocts culinary delights, lounges around, and sleeps a lot. Lets have a look inside, shall w

As we enter and turn to the right, we spot her kitchen. Decked out in the most fashionable of appliances, she knows how to whip up a hot dinner and look cool while doing so. Look at that navy blue Kitchenaid mixer, with the matching navy blue Kitchenaid toaster- a genius combination! Notice on the right her own personal Mocha station: Michelle is always in high demand, and her espresso machine and bean grinder keep her moving through her arduous day of attending class and being photographed by the paparazzi (or were those just photographers for the viewbook? You can never tell these days)

Moving past the kitchen and into the living room, we see her roommate Sahar’s flat screen TV worth over one hundred dollars. On the right we see evidence from 2 of Michelle’s favorite hobbies- not just famous and fabulous, this girl always knows how to indulge her artsy side. The blue stand holds her music for her French horn playing, and her Kandinsky mosaic that she is currently working on stands on display.

It seems that Michelle is making a bold statement about holiday consumerism by her candy-cane-adorned tree, tinsel, wreath, and lights that remain on display through April. Or maybe she’s too busy ruling the world to take them down. Either way, it’s more proof of her influence and importance.

Walking down the hall towards the other end of the apartment, we see the room at the end of the tunnel: her bathroom. By masterfully decorating with a yellow duck motif, Michelle transforms a usual drab room into a fab room. Note the duck bath mat, shower curtain, and static clings- this girl sure does know how to pull a room together!

We end our stroll through Homewood 305 with the best room of all: Michelle’s bedroom. We’ve gotten exclusive access to this often laundry-covered abode. Her desk sits, cluttered by the books of master thinkers, and adorned with the addresses of fellow celebrities. That “Loose Stone” road sign was a relic from a trip to her South Carolina timeshare with friends, where they indulged in the most extravagant of vacations. Her full-sized closet stands between us and the designer clothing inside. Lets look at where that pink and white sun dress sticking out came from. It looks like…yes, yes, it’s from Target! A genuine Target original folks. And they say college girls can’t afford high fashion…

Here’s the money shot: where Michelle Brown sleeps. The bed is haphazardly strewn together as someone else washes her sheets for her- famous people can’t be bothered with such trivialities. The poster above her bed features the play that was to become her big break in Hollywood: Boy Meets Girl. The black and white photo on the left is a prop from her next major work, Returning – a play she premiered in Spring of 2006. On the wall we also get an unprecedented look at her legendary collection of scarves- many of them Target originals as well.

Hi! This is in reference to one of your previous entries. You said that you worked in the Admissions Office. I am going to be a freshman in the fall. How can I find a job at Hopkins? Does this process occur prior to the school year or do I speak with someone when I attend Hopkins in the fall? If it's the latter, where do I go to find a job for during the school year?
Thanks!

Well, I was a sophomore then. However, now that Charles Commons has been built, they've restructured the "what year lives where" thing, so I think Homewood Apartments is primarily juniors now
