So I had one of the best surprises of my life 2 weekends ago: a friend who
I've known since 6th grade came to Hopkins to visit and we had such an amazing time! I love when people from back home come visit me at school, and the best part was I visited him this summer at the University of Pittsburgh. But now he gets to see my school.
At the bottom of this post I put together a slideshow of the pictures from his visit. It starts with the night he got here when we were just hanging out with some friends of mine from Hopkins then the next day we went to the mall with my suitemates and, well, lets just say that mall will never be the same :)
Sam and I may have an unhealthy obsession with furry eared caps :) And I have no idea why Ted put that underwear on over his pants, but needless to say it was a blast. Then we went into J Crew and pimped Ted out in blazers and bags and hats, etc. For anyone that knows Ted, he's a hardcore Texan guy - just give him a pair of boots, a T-shirt, and Wranglers and he's set! But that may be one of my favourite parts of moving up North from the South, well, from Texas at least! It's a completely different culture, and it's fun to try and find my own unique
blend of roots with all the new stuff I get introduced to every day.
Then came Halloween. Unfortunately I was sick last year but this year I put on my witch's costume and went down to Fells Point with my friends. My neighbors, Ally- the ballerina, Michelle - the cowboy, and Katherine - the unicorn had the most amazing costumes ever...yes that unicorn costume was pink and furry and by gosh it had wings!!!
Unfortunately last weekend was spent studying for Organic Chemistry (ahh!) and this weekend has been spent writing an expos paper on why NASA should be funded, but I have had some time to have fun! The pics thus far have been from yesterday when the 2 other sailing insructors and I went down to our Yacht Club, Downtown Sailing, and helped them pull boats out of the water and clean them for the winter. It was SOOOO cold, but over all it was fun. Jack had a pretty amazing time buffing the hulls and Greg and I learnt how to tie a boat down to a trailer!
And now for the movie, enjoy! I've been having a ton of fun playing around with this program so, with a little luck, there will be many more to come!
In reference to the post below: your brother doesn't look half asian whatsoever! He's cute though.
PS. I love YOUR love for boats.

Your comment about your friends from home visiting you here at Hopkins remind me how much I miss my friends from home - the last time I saw some of them was this summer, and there are friends whom I haven't even seen since two summers ago!

Roxi! I loved the pictures of Dan getting his nails painted!! Priceless. Yesterday I actually had to write about my opinion on how NASA should be funded for Conversations with the Earth. I imagine you enjoyed writing about it! Anyway, i'm glad you've been having fun.
PS Thanks for doing the facebook post so quickly. You really do never have a dull moment.
